Entrusted to Lead Podcast
For people doing work that matters—and trying to remain whole while they do it.
Entrusted to Lead explores the relationship between meaningful work, the people who carry it, the leadership that turns it into collective action, and the organizations we build to accomplish it.
Host Danita Cummins is an author, organizational strategist, veteran, and three-time founder who has spent nearly thirty years leading, building, advising, and studying how people and organizations accomplish difficult things.
Through honest reflection, practical frameworks, research, and Scripture-rooted wisdom, Danita explores questions about responsibility, identity, capability, discernment, leadership, faith, work, relationships, and the systems we build around the things that matter.
Because accomplishing the mission isn't the only question. What did accomplishing it do to the people carrying it?
Some episodes begin with the individual: Why can't I rest? Why do I feel responsible for everything I can fix? What happens when achievement becomes part of my identity?
Others look outward: What behaviors does leadership reinforce? What are people compensating for? What happens when an organization becomes dependent on its most capable people?
Entrusted to Lead isn't about doing less simply for the sake of doing less. It's about seeing more clearly—so we can discern what matters, understand what the work requires, lead wisely, and build lives and organizations capable of carrying meaningful work without unnecessarily breaking the people doing it.
New episodes on Thursdays. Mostly solo, occasionally a conversation.
